The Greensboro City Council Special Set Meeting was called to order by Mayor Corey Williams at 1:00 P.M at the City Hall.
The council members present were Mr. Miller, Mr. Mark Smith, Mr. Randy Barnhart, Mr. Jontavius Smih and Mr. Ricky J. Cosby. City Attorney Simon Williams.
Mr. Jontavius Smith opened with prayer.
City Manager Mr. Hayes presented mayor and council with consideration to approve an Amendment to the Construction Contract for Construction of the Greensboro City Hall from Kevin Price Construction and authorized the mayor to execute the agreement. Mr. Hayes asked that the record reflect that originally the city attorney requested a meeting concerning these matters, but a special called meeting was scheduled instead and that this amendment is a GMP (guaranteed maxium price).
Mr. Pritchett, one of the contractors for this project, explained to the mayor and council that this GMP assures us that if no changes are made to this project the price will not change and the completion date will be May 2027.
Mr. Hayes recommended approval of this contract amendment.
Motion to approve the amended contract was made by Mr. Jontavius Smith and seconded by Mr. Randy Barnhart. This motion was approved unanimously.
City Manager Mr. Hayes made a request to purchase six pieces of equipmnet (1) 2007 International Truck (1) Excavator (1) 2001 John Deere (1) 2017 Ford F350 Truck (1) 2016 Caterpillar Backhoe (1) 2009 Ford F750. Mr. Hayes made mayor and council aware that this equipment is very much needed. The amount of this equipment is $230,000 total.
Motion to approve purchase of six pieces of equipment was made by Mr. Cosby and seconded by Mr. Mark Smith. This motion was approved unanimously.
Motion to enter executive session for two legal matters was made by Mr. Jontavius Smith and seconded by Mr. Randy Barnhart. This motion was approved unanimously.
Motion to return back to regular session was made by Mr. Ricky Cosby and seconded by Mr. Miller. This motion was approved unanimously.
Motion to give Mayor William permission to sign a affidavit stating no action was taken on two legal matters in executive session was made by Mr. Miller and seconded by Mr. Mark Smith. This motion was approved unanimously.
Motion to adjourn were made by Mr. Jontavius Smith and seconded by Mr. Ricky Cosby. This motion was approved unanimously.
Closing prayer was done by Mayor Williams.
