Planning, Building, and Safety The Planning & Building Safety Department is responsible for the enforcement of the Georgia State Construction Codes, Georgia Accessibility and Fire Laws relative to construction and renovations to both old and new existing buildings within the City of Greensboro. These codes and standards are necessary to insure the safety and health of the occupants of a building. The Duties of the department are:
• Issues and maintains construction permits
• Reviews plans, specification and construction documents for code compliance
• Performs field investigations and inspections for code compliance
